A former chief magistrate, Karu Siro Ambaye, has killed himself at one of his mansions in Kakamega County.

His body was found dangling on a rope that was tied to the roof of the unfinished mansion on Sunday afternoon.

Ambaye was a practising advocate in Kakamega after having been sacked from his position in a radical surgery ordered by former President Mwai Kibaki and led by Justice Aaron Ringera.

His advocate friends, including Innocent Ondiek, Peter Samba and Hezron Abok, said Ambaye was last seen having breakfast with family members on Sunday morning.

Kakamega OCPD David Kebana said the lawyer's body was taken to the local mortuary awaiting postmortem.
