Former assistant minister Hezron Manduku dies

Former Member of Parliament for Nyaribari Masaba Hezron Manduku has died. 

Dr Manduku, 79, died on Saturday night while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital, his son, Dr Robert Manduku, confirmed.

He served as an assistant minister for Foreign Affairs between 1993 and 1997.

He was first elected to Parliament in 1992 on a Kanu ticket but lost the seat in the 1997 General Election to Kisii Senator Sam Ongeri.

He was later re-elected in 2002 on a Ford People ticket after defecting from Kanu.

As a medical doctor,  Dr Manduku worked at Kenyatta National Hospital, Kakamega Hospital and Meru hospitals.
