Three Form One students from Samoei Boys High School in Nandi are being held in Nandihills police station in relation to a fire incident that razed down one of the school dormitories.

The police investigative team together with the school administration led the search and scrutiny of the CCCTV footage which got them leads to the criminal acts in the school

"We have been having an investigation team led by DCI officers, school administration and board members and through the help of CCTV footage, we have leads to who could have caused the fire incident, " Board chair Dr Thoma Bor said.

Bor added that the school will however not be closed despite the incident.

"We are preparing for a national exam for Form Fours so we can't close the school. We have to ensure candidates sit for the exams without disruption," he said.

Yesterday morning, a 194-capacity dormitory burnt down forcing the school administration to seek help from government and political leaders to assist in building a new dormitory in order to ease the learning program when next term resumes.

The three Form One students will remain in custody as they wait to be arraigned in court, and to be charged with arson.
