Foreigner linked to lawyer’s murder in Syokimau detained for 14 days

A Congolese national who allegedly killed his lover in Syokimau, Machakos County has been detained for 14 more days to allow police to complete investigations.

Christian Mwambay Kadima, who is the main suspect in the murder of Elizabeth Koki, was arraigned at Mavoko Law Courts in Machakos on Monday morning.

Koki was found dead in her bedroom by her house help on Saturday morning, January 9, just hours after the foreigner had walked out of the house. 

Neighbours told detectives that the suspect was seen leaving the house before he drove off using a car that is believed to be Koki’s. 

Police are also trying to ascertain Kadima's nationality with immigration records showing he arrived in the country with Nigerian papers from South Africa.

Kadima, who is of Congolese descent, resided in South Africa where it has also emerged he is a wanted man for alleged assault.

The foreign national jetted into the country in September 2017 from South Africa.
