Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has warned Kenyans and leaders to avoid falling into the trap of thinking that the Building Bridges Initiative report is about sharing of seats and top government positions.

Mudavadi spoke candidly to the over 7,000 delegates at the Bomas of Kenya where President Uhuru Kenyatta is unveiling the BBI report to the public.

"My understanding is that BBI is bigger than sharing of positions...And your excellency, the economy. What is ailing us? the economy," said the ANC leader.

Musalia urged Kenyans to read the document for themselves and to avoid making their decisions based on their leader's opinions.

"Every Kenyan has a right to speak about this document so that we can find long lasting solutions. Kenya has a poor history when it comes to matters constitutional. We have a history of mutilating constitutions so that what we begin with cannot be recognised later," said Mr Mudavadi.
