A minor has informed a court of law that his biological father forced her to drink a traditional drink popularly known as Mnazi at the same time smoke cigars, to enable him to defile her.

The Mpeketoni court heard that the father forced his 8-year-old minor to drink palm wine (Mnazi) and smoke cigarettes for her to pass out and enable him to defile the minor.

Appearing before Mpeketoni resident magistrate, Pascal Nabwana the minor in her sworn testimony informed the court that his father John Gichuki Elijah would wait for her to come from school and take her to (Mburus Mangwe) in Tewe village where she would first feed her on bone soup before forcing her to drink the said Mnazi and smoke cigars.

"After taking me to the Mnazi dens, and getting me drunk she would bring me back to her house, l used to resist going into his house, but he would turn to be violent and drag me after informing his friends that he was taking me back home to my mother's house," the minor said.

The minor told the court that, upon arriving at her fathers house ,he would undress her and begin defiling her for hours .

The minor narrated the ordeal to the court, leading to the magistrate and his court assistant to break into tears uncontrollably as the suspect watched, without blinking his eyes.

The court further heard that, the father of 8 on the alleged day that he was caught in the act inside his bedroom, the mother of the minor had visited the husband's house to enquire on the whereabouts of her daughter and upon approaching the house he overheard the suspect tell his daughter that "Ukianza kuskia uchungu useme"Incase you feel, pain let me know.

The mother immediately raised alarm by calling out her neighbours and the area assistant chief, who responded and broke the window to the suspect's bedroom, where the suspect was allegedly found naked with the minor's head resting on his chest.

On his part clinical officer,Musyoki Kisilo from Mpeketoni Sub County hospital informed the court, that the minor had a history of being defiled each time after visiting her dad.

"Spermatozoa were found in her vagina, her inner wear was soiled and wet and her hymen had been broken with the medical report confirming that it was not the first time she was defiled," Kisilo said.

The charges read that on May 31, 2021 at Tewe area of Mpeketoni division Lamu west sub county he intentionally and unlawfully defiled a child aged 8 years.

The minor who still lives in the, same village as the suspect appealed to the court, to have her rescued into a safe house claiming that she felt unsafe.
