Police officers in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County have arrested a 39-year-old man for defiling his 13-year-old daughter four times infecting her with sexually transmitted infection (STI).
It is reported that Fredrick Kalibo, a resident of Lukhuna in Matisi location, has been defiling his daughter and threatening to kill her if she reveals the heinous act.
Matisi sub-location Assistant Chief Moses Wafula told K24 Digital that the man committed the act on various days.
"We arrested the suspect following a tip-off from a village elder. We took the girl to a health facility and the medical report revealed that she has been infected with sexually transmitted disease," Wafula said.
Wafula said the girl's mother passed on while the girl was still young. She was raised by her relatives in Mombasa.
Early this year, her father took her back with the promise of enrolling her in a Kitale-based school.
"Apart from defiling her severally, the man has also denied her the right to education as guaranteed by our constitution," he added.
The administrator warned men with such beastly character that the law will catch up with them.
"I really condemn this uncouth act. We shall not entertain such acts because it threatens our girls. Men like him should reform for good or face the law," Wafula warned.
The victim was taken to Esther Rescue Centre while the suspect is being held at Kitale Police headquarters. He will be arraigned in Kitale law courts on Monday.
