Famous Kalenjin musician Rhino Kaboom dies in road crash

Kalenjin music industry has been thrown into another mourning after a fast-rising secular artist Amon Kipkurui Rono aka Rhino Kaboom died in an accident on Sunday evening at Saos on Emining-Eldama Ravine Road.

Rhino Kaboom was known for various hits like Verah, Daisy and Lulu.

According to Rift Valley Traffic Enforcement Officer Dorothy Muleke, the artist while was on a motorcycle when he hit a Toyota Pro-Box head-on.

"He was riding the motorcycle on the wrong lane along the route occasioning the unfortunate incident," she said.

He was travelling from Emining town in Baringo County heading to Eldama Ravine town.

The accident occurred at about 7 pm.

Hundreds of fans and fellow musicians jammed Eldama Ravine Hospital after the viral sad news.

They expressed shock at the loss of the budding musician saying the accident has claimed another precious part of their society.

His body was taken to Eldama Ravine Sub-County Hospital morgue.
