Quack doctor, Mugo wa Wairimu, has said he was unfairly sentenced by the Magistrate's Court which slapped him with an 11-year imprisonment or pay a fine of Sh1.4 million on his own guilty plea for the six counts brought against him.

Mugo, who told the court that he has already adapted to prison life, claimed that Nairobi Resident Magistrate Martha Nanzushi erred when she sentenced him for 11 years to be served consecutively.

"I have to serve the 11 years since I have been told by the prison that where there is an additional fine, the sentence does not run concurrently, I have to serve one [sentence] after the other [for each count]," said Mugo.

The controversial gynaecologist has already served six months, a sentence he did not appeal by letting the 14-day appeal window lapse.

During an interview with K24 Digital on Wednesday, March 17, Mugo said that he wants to seek a judicial review at the High Court but has no resources to engage a lawyer.

The embittered Mugo said he wishes he committed a serious crime because he was handed a heavy penalty for only operating a clinic without a license, which to him is a minor offense that did not warrant such a harsh sentence.

"When I come out of the prison, I would like to commit a serious offense like drug trafficking or robbery with violence since it's like I am serving the same sentence," the fake gynaecologist said.

Mugo, who appeared before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on another matter of rape and operating a clinic without a license, asked the court to order Ruiru Prison to take him to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment, a request the court granted.

"They should ensure that the convict's rights and freedoms are not violated," said Andayi.

Mugo was transferred from the Industrial Area Prison to Ruiru Prison as a normal routine.

During the interview, Mugo said that the Ruiru Prison is far better than Industrial Area Prison because.

At Ruiru Prison, Mugo said the food is better and he occupies his time with farm work.
