Embattled former managing director of the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA) David Kimosop has been charged in connection to embezzlement of Sh19 billion earmarked for construction of Kimwarer and Arror multipurpose dams in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
He was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after a three-day cross-border trail to Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania where detectives believe he was hiding to avoid arrest.
Investigators say the two dams were to cost Sh46 billion, but the cost was inflated to Sh63 billion.
