Ex-Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohamed appointed Head of Communications for Ruto’s presidential campaigns

Former Citizen TV news anchor Hussein Mohamed has been picked to lead Communications at Deputy President William Ruto's presidential campaigns.

Ruto made the announcement on Monday, January 24 through a post on his social media pages.

"Hussein Mohammed, renowned TV journalist, has been appointed Head of Communications in the William Ruto Presidential Campaign. Welcome to the Hustler team," Ruto said.

The former newsman was welcomed by the DP at his official Karen residence.

On Friday, October 2019, Hussein took to his twitter account to announce his departure from Citizen TV.

He said that his decision was triggered by a desire 'to concentrate on other matters'.

“I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon,” he said.

In his decade-long career at Citizen TV, Hussein hosted a number of high-profile guests, including DP Ruto, ODM leader Raila Odinga, among others.
