Embakasi produces 6 cases as 23 more test positive for coronavirus in Kenya

Kenya on Friday, May 15 recorded 23 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total number of infections to 781, Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman says.

The 23 new cases were discovered in 2, 100 samples tested between Thursday (May 14) and Friday (May 15).

Nairobi produced 11 of the 23 new cases, with the remaining 12 cases distributed as follows: Mombasa (5), Kajiado (3), Kiambu (2), and Wajir (2).

The Nairobi estates that registered 11 of the infections include: Embakasi (6), Kamukunji (2), Lang’ata (2) and Starehe (1).

In Mombasa, all the five cases were discovered in Mvita Constituency.

Two of the three cases in Kajiado County were discovered in Namanga among truck drivers, whereas the third came from Bisil area.

In Kiambu County, Thika produced the two cases. In Wajir, Wajir East Sub-County produced the two cases.

Eighteen (18) of the 23 new cases are male, whereas five are female.

The age bracket of the new patients ranges from 24 years old to 85 years old, said Dr. Aman.

The CAS announced that three more people died of the disease, bringing the total number of fatalities to 45.

Recoveries still stand at 284, said Dr. Aman.

Kenya has thus far tested 39, 018 samples for coronavirus.
