Electricity transformer falls, hits bus in Nairobi CBD

Kenya Power transformer has fallen and hit a Chania Executive bus along River Road in Nairobi city.

Chania Executive management, the owners of buses operating from Nairobi to Mombasa are counting losses after Kenya Power pole holding a transformer fell this morning on one of its buses along River Road in Nairobi city.

Fortunately, no casualty was reported.

According to an eyewitness who spoke to K24 Digital on condition of anonymity, Kenya Power is to blame for laxity following the unfortunate incident.

"They don't care. This post could have been replaced before it's too late," he said.

The source further accused Kenya Power of not doing regular checks on such weak poles.

"They should replace such weak poles because it's dangerous. We could be telling a different story if it fell on human beings," he added.

Kenya Power is yet to respond to the incident but it has been notified.
