A middle-aged woman from Eldoret is in trouble with authorities for allegedly threatening to kill her employer.

Milly Limo, also allegedly threatened to elope with the husband of her employer while delivering the death threat.

The 34-year old woman was charged at the Eldoret Law Courts where she denied the charges levelled against her.

During her plea taking, the court heard that the suspect threatened Caroline Chemutai with a panga.

According to court records, her employer had been suspecting her of having an affair with her husband.

The suspect who appeared before Principal Magistrate Ankoba Mogire pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A charge sheet read in court indicated that the suspect committed the act at Kapkatei village in Turbo town.

"Nitakuua vile niliua mume wangu kisha nichukue huyu mzee wako ambaye unajidai naye (I will kill you the way I killed my husband then I elope with your husband)," read the court documents in part.

She was however released on a bond of Ksh50,000 with a surety of the same amount or an alternative cash bail of Ksh30,000.

The case will come up for mention on April 14.
