Eldoret farmer denies conning man Ksh155,000 after failing to deliver cows and calf

Joseph Kirwa Too is alleged that on 4th day of june 2021 at citizen credit in Nairobi with intent to defraud obtained Sh155,000 from peter Githinji Mwaniki on pretence that he was able to sell him two dairy cows and a calf a fact he knew to be false.

A 41 year old man has been charged with obtaining Ksh155,000 by false pretense in the guise that he will deliver two cows and a calf from Eldoret to Nyeri town.

Joseph Kirwa Too is alleged that on 4th day of june 2021 at Citizen Credit in Nairobi with intent to defraud obtained Sh155,000 from Peter Githinji Mwaniki on pretense that he was able to sell him two dairy cows and a calf a fact he knew to be false.

According to court documents the complainant met the accused person who introduced himself as a farmer dealing with dairy cows.

"He persuaded the accused to buy two cows and a calf at a cost of Ksh200,000," the court documents revealed.

The accused received cash Ksh100,000 and the rest was paid through MPESA ,the accused purported to deliver the said cows which he never did.

He pleaded not guilty before Nairobi Magistrate Jane Kamau and was slapped with a bond of Sh200,000 or cash bail Sh100,000
