The chairperson of Eldoret Bodaboda Sacco, Abraham Murgor, has been murdered.

Murgor’s mutilated body was on Saturday morning (July 25) found dumped in a maize plantation near his Ilula home in Eldoret East.

Murgor’s head had deep panga cuts and his eyes had been gouged out.

According to the deceased’s wife, Christine Ongayo, she last communicated with her spouse at 8pm Friday, after which his phone went off.

“I tried calling him several times, but his cellphone line remained unreachable. I was shocked to be informed that his body had been found dumped in a maize plantation near our home,” the widow told K24 Digital.

Murgor’s motorcycle was found a few meters from where his body had been dumped.

Following the spread of news about Murgor’s death, bodaboda operators in Eldoret Town on Saturday morning protested against their leader’s killing, blocking major roads.

Anti-riot police were, consequently, deployed to quell possible tensions.

The operators speculate their leader was killed for strongly defending their rights against “oppressors”.

More soon.
