Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi has accused embattled governor Mike Sonko of sabotage ahead of the takeover of key City Hall dockets by the State.

"The deal between the state and county government is good for Nairobians and Sonko too, he should not go behind the scenes and try to sabotage it," Speaker Elachi said.

The Speaker said Mr. Sonko has violated the terms and conditions of the deal by advertising the waiver of licenses.

"The deal ties Sonko and State from doing anything for 21 days but on his part he is up and running," Elachi added.

The Nairobi Speaker also fingered the Senate, accusing it of hijacking the county takeover after failing to intervene to tame the rogue governor.

On Thursday, the Nairobi County Government advertised nearly 1,500 jobs for county constables, firemen and teachers.
