All roads were leading to Vasha this weekend. The folks were all set to attend the World Rally Championship(WRC) event that they were missing since it last occurred in Kenya 19-years ago.

Social media was on fire for the past few weeks about Vasha and the rowdy Subaru Boys. This is what arguably fueled the event.

However, due to the heavy traffic pickle as the roads were closed for the Rally event, most people didn’t manage to attend the event but later in the night, there was a consolation after-party event dubbed Dunda festival at Baron Sports club Delamere.

When the traffic cleared at around 8 pm, everyone found themselves at this event that was filled with pomp and colour.

In the beginning, the fans got entertained with distinct reggae mixes by Dj Joe Mfalme, then next on stage was the controversial self-proclaimed king of comedy in Africa Eric Omondi together with MC Antonio. You just know how this duo kills the show.

The entrance of Mejja drove the crowd to the greatest climax with chants and cheers hovering in the air.

It was a clear display that party animals were missing these moments that they had not experienced for long due to the government’s regulations set to control the spread of the novel coronavirus.

“This event was not worth missing. I am here after a long time of not partying since clubs and bars are mostly closed due to COVID-19, ” says Barry Ochieng’ one of the revellers.

It was a great time for chilling and unwind after a long week of work. For the boychild, their interests were served right as there was enough supply of drinks and Mayengs.

After Mejja performance, the event continued till dawn with dance and drinking.

“There was a fear that this event will turn out to be like the Masaku sevens one that was done in Machakos county some years ago. People really misbehaved, leading to its ban. But for this, people were a bit disciplined,” concludes another reveller Wangui Mwangi.
