A middle-aged woman on Tuesday stripped naked at the Mama Lucy Kibaki Memorial Hospital in Umoja 3 to resist arrest.

The woman, an alleged illicit brew seller in Embakasi Division, had gone to the hospital to visit her three customers, who sustained gunshot wounds during a confrontation with police last Saturday.

The three are alleged to have pelted police officers with stones during a crackdown on illicit alcohol traders in Soweto area.

And when cops showed up at the hospital to arrest the woman on Tuesday afternoon, she removed all her clothes, including her underwear, and began screaming, saying she was being unfairly targeted.

Several women, who were at the hospital, could be seen holding their heads in disbelief as the woman moved from one spot to the other while stark-naked.

One of the women, however, handed over her shawl to the livid suspect, who used it to cover her nakedness.

Police, nonetheless, apprehended and bundled her into a waiting police van, and drove her to Soweto post, where she is being detained.

Following the woman’s arrest, her husband, identified only as David alias Daudi, turned himself in on Tuesday evening.

It is alleged David, his first wife -- who was arrested at Mama Lucy Hospital -- and his second wife, who was arrested on Sunday, are the ringleaders of illicit brew sellers in Embakasi Division, claims they vehemently deny.

The trio will be arraigned at the Makadara Law Courts on Wednesday, November 6.
