DP Ruto urges sex workers to open Sacco, pledges Ksh1M support

Deputy President William Ruto, on Monday, urged sex workers in Mtito Andei to organize themselves into a Sacco.

According to reports, DP Ruto asked the sex workers to organize themselves to be in a financial group so that he can gift them ksh1 million to enable them to start a legit business.

Ruto's promise comes after the commercial sex workers asked him to provide them with empowerment funds that will see them switch their careers and pursue better jobs.

The Deputy President also promised to keep tabs on the money he will give them to ensure they truly realize their dreams in the new ventures.

Ruto was in the Mtito Andei drumming up support for his bottom-up economic model which he said will improve the lives of the ordinary Kenyans.

He said that his economic model will focus on improving the lives of Kenyans especially low-income earners and SMEs.
