Deputy President William Ruto has offered help to a man who chained himself at his Harambee Annex office gate demanding a job.

The young man identified as Lawrence Amuke Oprong, who claimed to be the son of the late former Busia North MP Fredrick Oduya Oprong, stated that Ruto had promised to offer him a job but he (the DP) reneged on the promise. This, he claimed forced him to show up at the Deputy President's office.

Amuke chained his waist to the gate grills, saying that he would only free himself once DP Ruto addresses him.

Hours after the fiasco between the young man and security officers at the DP's office, the second-in-command has offered to come to the man's rescue.

Ruto's spokesperson Emmanuel Talam revealed that his boss has resolved the matter with Amuke. Talam revealed that Ruto will fulfil his promise to give Amuke a job.

"DP has sorted the issued and asked his office to handle the young man's case," Talam said.
