The poem praised and urged Ruto to 'arise and shine for the glory of God' as he seeks the state's top seat ahead of the August 9 polls.

"Dr Somoei Ruto, my president to be, my prayer and wish are you climb to the top so that you may glorify the Lord you have been serving....for the churches you have built, for the hustlers you have lifted, we say arise for the glory of the Lord has risen upon you," part of the poem read.

Ruto was accompanied by ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula, Nakuru senator Susan Kihika, among other leaders.
