Detectives attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are in pursuit of a teenager suspected to have killed his father after an argument ensued over a lost chicken.

In a statement, DCI boss George Kinoti said that the 18-year-old who is also a Form Four student at a local day school in Lodiani, Kericho county confronted his father Wilson Kipsoi accusing him of selling six of his chicken.

“Angered by the confrontation, Kipsoi threatened to shoot his son with arrows, forcing the form four student at Kapcheplanga day Secondary school, to seek refuge at a neighbour’s house,” he said in a statement.

The following day, the suspect went back to their home armed with a club as he vowed to deal with his father if he will not produce the missing chicken.

He descended on his father as he assaulted him repeatedly using the crude weapon as he asked the helpless man to produce the chicken.

On realising that his father had fallen unconscious he fled as the man was being rushed to the hospital.

He succumbed to the injuries while undergoing treatment at the same facility.
