A detainee at Turbo Police Station in Uasin Gishu County on Friday, December 25 escaped custody after pouring urine on the face of a police officer tasked with manning him.

Benjamin Maloba poured the urine, which was in a bucket, on the face of Joseph Thuranira in the wee hours of Christmas Day.

Maloba had been tasked with cleaning the holding cells, when he requested Thuranira to escort him to the latrine so that he could empty the bucket which had been filled with urine.

While on the way to the toilet, Maloba emptied the bucket full of urine on Thuranira’s face before escaping to an unknown destination.

Police said Maloba had been apprehended after a court recently issued a warrant of arrest against him over an unspecified offence.

Police have since launched a hunt for him.
