Jubilee digital strategist Dennis Itumbi was on Wednesday morning, July 10 released from custody on Ksh100, 000 cash bail.

Itumbi is accused of authoring and circulating a fake letter alleging that four cabinet secretaries are plotting to kill Deputy President William Ruto in a bid to stop him from ascending to presidency in 2022.

Milimani Resident Magistrate Zainab Abdul ordered that Itumbi must present himself to the DCI once every two days.

The accused’s mobile phone, SIM card and power bank, which had been confiscated by detectives, will be returned to him after 14 days end, beginning  July 3, the magistrate ordered.

The court further ordered Itumbi to submit his passport to the institution in a bid to prevent him from flying out of the country.

The former blogger was also barred from posting to his social media pages any details pertaining his ongoing case.

The matter will be mentioned on July 22.

Itumbi was arrested last Wednesday in Nairobi CBD on suspicion of being the brain behind the DP Ruto assassination claims.

The online figure spent seven days in detention as detectives investigated the matter.
