With one day remaining before the 2019/2020 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) kicks off, none of the promoted teams is as ambitious and boisterous as Wazito FC.

Wazito, who are owned by Badoer Investment Limited, have not only lived up to their congruence, Nurturing Talent, but have also dared experienced teams in the top-tier league.

The team who are increasingly endearing themselves to Kenyan football fans due to their almost flawless football, had earlier warned other KPL teams that they will be coming for the title after a breathtaking performance in the 2018 National Super League (NSL).

To demonstrate their seriousness in the league, Wazito enlisted the services of ex-Harambee Stars head coach Stanely Okumbi who is assisted by AFC Leopards legend Fred Ambani.

Okumbi, who is the chief trainer at Acacoro Academy, said in no uncertain terms that Wazito are not in KPL to make up numbers but rather to challenge for the title.

“The spirits in the team are fever peak and I think we will not be pushovers. I’m glad that I have taken charge of troops which are eager to learn and hopefully, I will use my coaching experience to steer the team to great heights,” said Okumbi.

Admittedly, Wazito FC have not been resting on their laurels as they want to live up to their fans’ expectation in the KPL and this is apparently the reason they camped in Tanzania for training ahead of KPL.

While in Tanzania, Wazito, who have been in a spending spree for new players, were involved in friendly with Dar giants Simba to gauge their ability as they prepared to attack Kenya’s senior most league.
