The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has on Saturday, April 2, 2022, summoned Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Soy MP Caleb Kositany and Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker David Kiplagat over the violence that was meted on ODM leader Raila Odinga and his entourage in Kabenes, Uasin Gishu county.

The opposition chief and his entourage, who were in Kabenes to attend the burial of business mogul Jackson Kibor, were attacked and their chopper pelted with stones and other projectiles.

The DCI has now revealed that preliminary investigations have indicated that the two aforementioned legislators and the county assembly speaker had a hand in the chaos.

In a statement posted on their social media platforms, the investigative agency stated that the two lawmakers and county assembly speaker have been summoned to appear before the Rift Valley DCI Regional cordinator on April 3, 2022, at 9am.

"The two legislators and County Assembly Speaker have pursuant to Section 52 of the National Police Service Act 2011, been summoned to appear in person before the Rift Valley DCI Regional cordinator on April 3, 2022, at 9am, for further investigations into their involvement in the incident," the statement read in part.
