Director of Criminal Investigations, DCI George Kinoti showcased his other side of life besides gathering and providing criminal intelligence and the same time investigating severe crimes in the country.

The DCI boss made a debut on a popular local show that airs on Monday, as Kinoti played the same role as he does in real life.

According to the script officer Abdi whose real name is Ratib Mohammed, belittled the DCI boss, not knowing who he was.

However, ‘Chief Inspector’ Davis Mwambili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, asked the crew to accord the debutant the much admiration he deserves.

Addressing the cast, Kinoti emphasized the need for service delivery and urged the police officers crew to avoid graft and harassing innocent civilians while on duty.

“We always pledge to God to deliver in our duty to protect and serve the common mwananchi,” Kinoti said

An elated crew would go on to take a photo with Kinoti as they went ahead and awarded him with a trophy for his exemplary service.

There had been earlier claims that the Kenya Police Service had banned the drama show on claims that the cast wear costumes and use props that closely resemble police gear.

The claims coincided with an exposé that was done by Citizen TV’s investigative journalist Purity Mwambia. The journalist uncovered how police in Kenya allegedly hire out police uniforms and firearms to criminals.

Kinoti is said to have summoned the editorial director, the director of strategy and innovation, and the investigative reporter to record statements that would aid in investigations.

Inspekta Mwala show normally runs every Monday at 7:31 p.m. and every Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
