Kenya’s daily coronavirus infections on Sunday fell below 100-mark with only 83 people testing positive for the virus from a sample of 3,093 tested in the last 24 hours.

This pushed the total caseload in the country to 35,103 with cumulative tests standing at 474,477.

Of the new 83 cases reported on Sunday, seven were foreigners, the Ministry of Health said.

The number of recoveries also continued to rise with 72 patients discharged from various hospitals and home-based care program.

However, the death toll rose to 597 after three patients died of the virus.
