Covid-19: East Africa cases swell to 651 with 22 deaths

The number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in East Africa has hit 651 confirmed cases.

Kenya leads with the highest number of cases (270) followed by Tanzania with 170.

On Sunday, April 19, Tanzania recorded new 23 Covid-19 cases that were confirmed in Zanzibar while Kenya reported 8 new cases.

Rwanda, which has the highest number of recovered coronavirus cases with 76, has had 147 infections.

Uganda has 55 confirmed cases with 28 recoveries while South Sudan has only four.

Kenya and Tanzania have lost 21 people to Covid-19.

In the Africa, South Africa, Egypt and Morocco lead with the highest confirmed Covid-19 cases with 3,158, 3,144 and 2,387 total infections respectively.
