High Court has temporarily stopped Sh58 million fraud case against former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero and others.

This is after he filed an application protesting the decision of the public prosecutor to charge him afresh.

Dr Kidero argued that the fresh charges brought against him are defective.

Kidero, George Wainaina, John Kariuki, Paul Mutungi, Manasseh Kepha, Philomena Nzuki and 10 others were to plead afresh this morning to offences said to have been committed in 2014.

It is alleged that they conspired to defraud the Nairobi City County of Sh58 million.
