A police officer is among four kidnappers set to be arraigned in court on Monday, September 26, 2022, for kidnapping a man on the evening of Friday, September 23, 2022.

Police say the rogue cop, constable David Komora Balesa, was arrested alongside three others after their vehicle was intercepted by officers stationed at the National Assembly.

Prior to their arrest, the four had kidnapped Nelson Rading Mango along Uhuru Highway toward Bunyala road.

Rading whose whereabouts are currently unknown managed to escape moments before police arrived at the scene.

"Officers got information from the chief controller that one Nelson Rading Mango had been kidnapped along Uhuru Highway toward Bunyala. When they got to the scene, they intercepted a Mazda motor vehicle registration number KCL 760X. Upon interrogation, it was established that one of the four was an officer attached to Buruburu Police station together with an inner driver and two others," a police report seen by K24 Digital reads in parts.

The four, constable Balesa, Silas Omach Omondi-the driver of the vehicle, Diana Cheruto Bungei and Hillary Kiprono Chirchir will be charged with the offense of Kidnapping.

Hillary is also expected to be charged for giving false information and having government stores (C.O.A and handcuffs).

"They will be charged in court for the offense of kidnapping, the court suspect will be charged with an extra charge for the offense of impersonation, giving false information, and having government stores(C.O.A and Handcuffs)," the report added.

The four are currently cooling their heels in police custody as police proceed with investigations.
