Tanzania bongo star Naseeb Abdul Juma alias Diamond Platnumz is grateful to his country men even after he failed to clinch the prize at the 2021 BET awards.

Diamond thanked Tanzanians for supporting him during the competition which were held at the Microsoft theatre in Los Angeles California on Sunday.

The musician was a nominated in the best international act category.

Even after losing to Nigeria's Burna Boy, Diamond said he is grateful to see Tanzania being named among the countries with top musicians in the world.

"Kupitia tuzo hii nimeona ni kiasi gani watanzania tuna umoja, upendo na kuthamini vya kwetu...Nawashkuru sana kila mmoja wenu kwa upendo mkubwa mlionionesha...Nifaraja kuona Dunia inapotaja nchi zenye wanamuziki bora Tanzania inatajwa, ni jambo la Kumshukuru Mungu....Na naamini wakati mwingine Tutaibeba," Diamond said.

This is the third time Diamond came out of the BET awards empty handed.

In 2016, Diamond lost to South Africa’s Black Coffee after he failed to clinch the award in 2014 which went to Nigeria’s Davido

Before the awards, a number of musicians from Tanzania sent Diamond messages of goodwill, wishing him all the best at the awards.

Some of the musicians were Shilole, Shetta, Zuchu, Lavalava, Queen Darleen, Jux and Baba Levo.

Although he lost at the BET, Diamond surprised his fans last week with a brand-new Cadillac Escalade 2020 model, zero kilometer, whose market value is estimated at Ksh30 million.

This comes barely a month after he bought a similar car, making history as the first East African singer to own it.

His brand-new car was delivered right on the doorstep of his mansion by a transit lory before it was driven to his parking as his cameramen recorded the whole event.

According to his finance manager Don Fumbwe, another vehicle, Rolls Royce, model is on transit and is expected to arrive in Tanzania anytime.

The 2020 Cadillac Escalade boast two front headrests, two rear headrests, LED headlamp, auto delay off headlamps, blind-spot and lane-departure warnings accident-avoidance system, child seat anchors and daytime running light.

The car also has dual front side-mounted airbags, dusk sensing headlamps, engine immobilizer, front rear and third-row head airbags, post-collision safety system, pre-collision safety system, remote anti-theft alarm system among many other interesting features.
