The family of former Attorney General Charles Njonjo has on Sunday October 10, 2021 debunked rumours surrounding the death of the veteran lawyer.

In a statement seen by K24 Digital, the family dismissed the unfortunate reports terming them as greatly exaggerated.

The family reported that the 102-year-old is alive and as a matter of fact, enjoying his weekend.

“Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I am well and enjoying my weekend at home as we celebrate Utamaduni Day,” the statement read in part.

News about Njonjo’s supposed death went rife on Saturday October 9, 2021 with many Kenyans expressing their shock and condolences.

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and other notable figures fell victims to the unverified reports, sending their condolence messages to the family of Kenya’s first Attorney General.
