Chaos erupts at Bungoma funeral after MCA punches man who heckled him

Chaos erupted at a funeral in Bungoma after Kabula Member of County Assembly punched a mourner who heckled him during the burial of Vincent Wasike.

Police were forced to shoot in the air to disperse mourners who who were fighting after a scuffle ensued between Kabula MCA Vitalis Nyongesa and the youths.

Present at the funeral was Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and former Bumula MP Wakoli Bifwoli.

In June 12, drama was also witnessed at a funeral in Bungoma after Lwandanyi MCA Tony Barasa was dragged off the podium by a section of Governor Wycliffe Wangamati's supporters.

The chaos erupted at a funeral in Tuuti village, Kanduyi Sub County which was attended by governor Wangamati and a section of Bungoma MCAs opposing the county chief.

The drama ensued after a section of MCAs opposing the second Supplementary Budge faced it out with their counterparts from Maendeleo Mashinani Initiative Reloaded..

In a rejoinder, Lwandanyi MCA who reported the matter at Bungoma Police Station said his life is in danger and that even after reporting the matter twice to the police no action has been taken.

Governor Wangamati condemned the incident, terming it as unfortunate while promising to factor in the youth in appointments of village administrators.

"We don't want politics of wars and division, we want peace in Bungoma and when you criticize, do so constructively," Wangamati cautioned.

The MCA's who were attacked called on the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to come to their rescue and stop attacks on the MCAs.

"I don't know why the County Commissioner is doing nothing about these incidents, this is not the first case, every weekend Wangamati is attacking somebody," Majority Leader Joseph Nyongesa
