In his second day tour in the Nyanza region, Deputy President William Ruto was met with chaos after his event at Kondele in Kisumu brewed into pandemonium on Wednesday, November 10.

Police were forced to fire tear gas after futile attempts by Ruto to calm the crowd.

DP Ruto accused rivalries of hiring goons to disrupt his tour by throwing stones at his convey.

"Kisumu hii ni Kenya. Na Kisumu hii tutahakikisha tumekomboa Kisumu kutoka mambo ya mawe. We must get rid of the leaders who hire young people to throw stones," he stated.

He however enumerated the development projects that the Jubilee administration has initiated in Kisumu county.

Ruto stated that the Uhuru-led administration prioritized electricity connectivity in the region that still had many residents not connected to the national grid.

This was his last day in Kisumu county ahead of his visit to Migori County tomorrow to complete his 3-day Nyanza tour.
