Celebrated Swahili books author Ken Walibora is dead.

Walibora was knocked down by a 52-seater bus on Landhies Road last Friday, April 10.

A Mercedes-Benz car key and press card were found in his pockets when he was taken to Kenyatta National Hospital in critical condition.

His body was moved to the KNH morgue after passing on Wednesday, April 15.

His family had reported him as missing since Friday.

Siku Njema, Kidagaa Kimemwozea were among the author’s famous books.

Walibora taught at Ohio State University where he obtained a masters and PhD in Comparative Cultural Studies and later worked as an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

When he left the United States for Kenya, Prof Walibora worked at the Nation Media Group where he was the Swahili editor for all its platforms until 2019.

Before furthering his studies in the US, Walibora was a news anchor at the NMG between 1999 and 2004.
