Casual labourer found dead after fight with colleague over unpaid debt

Eldoret residents woke up to a bizarre incident on Saturday, July 3 when the body of a badly mutilated one year old was discovered along river Sosiani.

A casual labourer was discovered dead on Tuesday, August 24, around Tender Foot area in Kabete, Kiambu County, hours after he was embroiled in a scuffle with a colleague.

According to a report by DCI, Samson Therura and his co-worker Martin Munywoki fought over unpaid debt.

The lifeless body of a 28-year-old Therura was found meters away from the construction site where the two worked.

His body had stab wounds on the chest.

“Crime Scene Investigators who attended the scene established that the victim had a stab wound through the left side of his chest, which had been inflicted by a sharp object,” DCI report reads.

DCI says the suspect, Munywoki, went into hiding at a friend’s house after committing the heinous out but was smoked out by crime investigators.

A bloodstained kitchen knife believed to have been used to stab the deceased was discovered at the same house and has been kept as an exhibit.

Munywoki is in custody undergoing legal procedures pending plea taking even as further investigations continue.
