The Kenya Meteorological Department has warned Kenyans to brace themselves for rains in several parts of the country starting Sunday night.

Nairobi residents and parts of western Kenya should expect light showers from Sunday night.

On Monday, the Met forecast medium rainfall in Nairobi, Nyeri, Kisii and in some parts of northeastern, western and coastal Kenya. The rains may continue the whole week.

The weatherman said the rains will fall in the mornings and evenings, hence people should plan to leave for work a bit earlier than usual.

"Don't forget to allow extra time if you will be travelling to and from work," said the weatherman.

The Kenya Met also advised commuters to 'delay a little bit' at their workplaces to avoid being caught up in traffic
