Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi has announced that he is taking a break from social media.

In an Instagram post shared, Mwangi who stated that it was his last day on social media explained that he was taking a break to relax and unwind.

"Today, I am leaving social media. It is my last day on social media, while I am away, my wife is still on social media I am going to put her handle, I'll put her email here so that you can contact her. I am taking a break to just chill, relax, and read," he said.

"You know how to find me if it’s important. I will be at my favourite place," he added.

Shortly after he made the announcement, his fans thronged the comment section wishing him good riddance.

2020: Boniface takes break

The father of three has been active on social media, lending a voice to the voiceless and fighting for the rights of the oppressed.

Despite his latest announcement, this is not the first time Mwangi is taking a break from social media.

In 2020, the father of three announced that he was taking a break to relax.

“I am taking a long break from social media from next week. If you have sent something that you want me to highlight and l haven't, it's likely buried in the hundreds of unread messages.

“If you can resend, please do, include your Twitter handle. I shall get trusted friends, we go through my inbox and share everything on Thursday and Friday on my Twitter handle,” he tweeted.
