A funeral service at Kamweswon village in Sotik was on Thursday October 14, 2021 forced to end prematurely after a swarm of bees attacked mourners and grave diggers, disrupting the event.

What started as a usual burial service for a woman who died a week after a short illness, turned bizarre after the bees started attacking those digging the grave.

Mourners who had attended the event were also forced to scamper for safety as all activities came to a halt.

Two family members sustained serious injuries as a result of the bee stings and were rushed to the nearby Kaplong mission hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
