The body of a 13-day old infant who died and was hastily buried after botched circumcision conducted by Nomiya Church will be exhumed.

The alleged incident took place in Rapogi sub-location, Nyakach Sub-county within Kisumu on August 22.

A police officer who sought anonymity during an interview said that the church often circumcises infants 8 days after birth.

He further stated that the police are currently interrogating the infant's parents and the Nomiya church pastor to get to the root cause of his death.

" We are carrying out our investigations which will be forwarded to the DPP for further directions," he said.

He also said that they will move to Nyando Law Courts to seek orders to have the body exhumed for post mortem to be carried out.

"We will go to the court to swear an affidavit to have the body exhumed for postmortem examinations," he said.
