The bodies of Mariam Kighenda and that of her daughter, Amanda Mutheu, have not been found ten days on after their car plunged into the sea.

The Government Spokesperson, Cyrus Oguna, says Kenya Navy divers have located two possible positions of Kighenda’s Toyota Isis in the Likoni Ferry channel, offering a glimmer of hope.

“We cannot confirm with certainty that the vehicle is among the objects located at the two spots,” said Oguna.

“However, we are hopeful that by end of Wednesday [October 9] or early Thursday [October 10], we would have verified what those objects are,” said the spokesperson while addressing journalists at the Likoni Ferry channel.

His address came barely an hour after a section of the media announced that the victims’ bodies had been found and taken to the morgue.

More soon.
