Bodaboda rider robbed of Ksh170,000 in Kayole

A bodaboda rider was shot and injured before being robbed Ksh170, 000 in Kayole, Nairobi on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

In the incident, the victim identified as Hassan Osundwa was ambushed by two men on a motorbike as he was going to deposit money. His attackers fled with the cash after shooting him in the leg.

“He was headed to Rafiki Micro-Finance bank based in Kayole to deposit a sum of 166,000 belonging to Chokomatt Supermarket based at Mowlem using his motorbike.

"Upon reaching a few meters to the bank, he was accosted by two thugs who were using a motorbike. They shot him and robbed him of the cash plus another ksh.4000,” part of the police report reads.

The victim was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment as the police conduct investigations.

Police recovered two spent cartridges of a 9mm caliber as an exhibit.

Elsewhere still in Kayole, Mihang’o police officers on patrol arrested two thugs who had robbed a lady within the area.

The police noted that they had to shoot to subdue the suspects before arresting them.

“While on patrol, the officers met two thugs who had robbed a lady identified as Revian Omuacha. They recovered an Itel P37 phone from them,” the police report read.
