A fierce fight ensued in Kabarnet Town in Baringo County on Thursday evening, when a middle-aged man suspicious of his wife’s loyalty busted her in a compromising position with her paramour.

The enraged husband found his wife, who is in her 40s, with her 25-year-old lover inside an electronic shop he (husband) recently acquired for her.

It is alleged that the emotionally-hurt man had suspected his partner was playing the field, and, therefore, decided to lay a trap on Thursday.

Unaware of her husband’s suspicions and plan, the woman invited her male lover to her shop in the evening for a “closed door meeting”.

Shortly after the young man got into the store, the woman closed business for the day.

The woman’s husband waited for a couple of minutes before storming the shop and demanded that the door be opened.

Realising his wife was hesitant, the disappointed man broke down the door and caught his partner and her lover half-dressed.

Filled with rage, the betrayed husband descended on his love rival with kicks and punches.

Not taking the beating lying down, the young man retaliated with equal force. By this time, the woman, who sparked the joust, had already fled the scene.

So vicious was the fight that it caught the attention of passersby, who milled outside the shop to witness the high drama.

The scrimmage lasted more than 20 minutes, and only came to an end when police arrived at the scene and arrested the warring parties.

One of the witnesses, John Yegon, urged married women to refrain from luring young men with money in exchange for sex.

Other residents advised married men against concentrating too much on money-generating activities at the expense of giving attention to their wives.
