Youth from Ewalel Chapchap ward in Baringo Central have decried and offered their grievances to the Baringo Central Member of Parliament (MP) Joshua Kandie while on his campaign trail.

Speaking during an event where Kandie donated an Ambulance to Seretunin Health Facility, Sharon who led the youths noted that there was an increased rate of unemployment in their ward.

While stating that over 100 graduates are yet to find jobs, Sharon narrated that she was also a victim, adding that for the longest time she has searched for a school to teach to no avail.

She pleaded with the MP to consider the issue of unemployment once he is elected during the August polls.

"We are languishing in poverty with our certificates in our houses don't know where to run to to get help, we today appeal for help once you get in power, you have several offices atleast take some, let them be secretaries, we have enough skills to undertake any available jobs, we are not choosy, upon our employment, things will be different here, poverty levels will be unheard-of," she lamented.

On his part, Kandie pledged to foster development and create job opportunities in the constituency, he also urged the supporters to vote for him in the August polls.

While commissioning the new ambulance, Kandie noted that it will go a long way in boosting access to health care service and to end the kind of tussles the residents had been going through when it comes to emergency cases.

"Today I hand over the Ambulance to this ward as I had earlier on promised, the utility vehicle is very vital in reducing deaths from preventable diseases and conditions that need emergencies such as maternal health deaths and others inclusive," the MP stated.

Kandie further stated that he has worked with his german friends who have helped him hand over 4 ambulances to health centres within his constituencies such as Salawa, Kiptagich, Sacho, and Seretunin, promising that Kapropita ward would soon receive.

Speaking at the same event, Richard Rotich the Health County Executive Committee (CEC) noted with concern that the utility would play a crucial role in offering assistance to patients recommended for specialized treatment to higher health facilities in Eldama Ravine, Kabarnet, Nakuru among others.

Rotich said the ambulances will strengthen the health system by complimenting county government efforts to ensure quality medical services is provided equally to every individual in the region.

Peter Kiptoo, a resident in the area appreciated the efforts by the legislator pledging to vote him back in the August polls.

"We're grateful as a ward today, we promise to vote you back, we put an end to any deaths that could occur for failure to get to a facility in time, for many years we've struggled such that when someone gets an emergency we start going for private cars which sometimes is costly and problem to get, also a number of our residents lost their lives from minor diseases that could be handled by getting quick and accessible care,” he pointed out.
