Enduring Mathare parliamentary seat candidate Kevin Kioko alias Bahati of the Jubilee party says he has spent over Ksh33 million on his campaigns.

Bahati said he is also planning to splash another Ksh10 million on election day.

"So far I have spent like Ksh 33 million. I am planning to spend Ksh 10 million on election day," he said in a recent interview.

The singer has fought nail and tooth to remain in the race despite Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya alliance zoning Mathare for ODM.

Initially, he had been asked to step down in favour of incumbent MP Anthony Oluoch on grounds that Mathare would be zoned for the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.

The singer then took to social media to plead with the President for a chance to contest.

“I wish to appeal to my President Uhuru Kenyatta and Baba Raila Odinga, please give a youth a chance to contest.

“I know Mathare has been zoned as an ODM zone, but for this one time, please give a youth of this country a chance,” he pleaded.
