Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, been acquitted in an active shooting case involving Felix Orinda, alias DJ Evolve.

The court decision follows an application by DJ Evolve, who wanted charges against the legislator withdrawn.

However, the charge of behaving in a disorderly manner while carrying a firearm still stands.

The legislator had attempted to settle his case with DJ Evolve out of court.

Babu was charged with attempting to murder Evolve, whom he shot in 2018 at a club in Kilimani.

His lawyer Duncan Okatch has termed the decision as monumental, as DJ Evolve's family lawyer told the court that the two parties are in the last stages of negotiations.
