Emotions ran high at Karatina Sub-County mortuary on Wednesday afternoon during an autopsy on the body of Konyu Ward Representative Eric Mwangi Wamumbi’s wife Catherine Nyambura.

Nyambura’s body was found last Monday morning in Hohwe Dam on the Nyeri-Karatina Road by a local resident who reported the matter to the police.

A pathologist, Dr. Nyabuto Brenda, who represented the family told the press after the exercise that the body had no physical injuries.

However, Dr. Brenda said that the autopsy was not conclusive and blood and tissue samples are to be taken to the government laboratory for further analysis to establish the cause of death.

She added that the examination revealed that the head, lungs and stomach had a lot of fluid.

“We are taking blood samples, tissue and stomach contents to the government laboratory for analysis to answer the cause of death,” Dr Brenda said.

Police from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Tuesday questioned the MCA over the incident.
