Attorney General Paul Kihara has filed a notice of appeal seeking to overturn High Court ruling that stopped the Building Bridges Initiative from proceeding to referendum.

Through a notice, Kihara says he is dissatisfied with the decision of the 5-judge bench delivered at the High Court on May 13, 2021 and that he intends to appeal against the whole decision.

The five High Court constitutional judges including Justice JM Ngugi, Justice G.V Odunga, Justice Jairus Ngaah, Justice Chacha Mwita and Justice Mumbua Matheka, on Thursday, declared the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) process as unconstitutional following a case filed by eight petitioners which had been lodged at the court.
